Once known as the 'River Farm' owned by George Washington, Stratford Landing is home to over 700 households. Our neighborhood is extremely unique, blending historical significance with modern charm and amenities. Our tree-lined streets, winding sidewalks, scenic views and wooded back yards make it hard to believe that we're located only 20-minutes south of Washington, D.C.
We welcome new residents and cherish those that have given so much to make our community a great place to live.
We are conveniently located to many valuable amenities and resources and boast a few of our own!
PEOPLE
Our community is home to young families with small children, retirees, active servicemen and women, veterans, working couples, homeowners and renters. Some folks have lived here their whole lives, others are 'transplants' from other states, while some have moved back in order to raise their children where they grew up. We welcome new residents to our community, and hope you will participate in the many activities and opportunities our neighborhood has to offer.
PLACE
Our neighborhood is primarily comprised of homes built in the late 50’s, 60's and 70's, some of which have been uniquely modernized and updated. It is characterized by long, winding sidewalks, large trees, big back yards, playgrounds, a local pool, an elementary school, lots of dogs, runners, walkers, children playing, people who enjoy spending time outside, bikers accessing the Mount Vernon Trail, and lots of flowers and green foliage in the spring. We also have a number of organized community activities and events that make this place extremely special.
POSSIBILITIES
Living here provides many conveniences, whether you simply need to run an errand or have visitors in town for the weekend. We are strategically located near valuable amenities, including the Hollin Hall Shopping Center, which is home to Safeway grocery store and other local retailers. We're only a few miles north of George Washington's Mount Vernon, a 10-minute drive to Old Town, Alexandria and 15-miles south of Washington, D.C.
