The Stratford Landing Citizens Association exists to serve and strengthen our community by providing a forum for sharing information, connecting neighbors, promoting activities and fostering civic engagement for those that live here.

We are not a homeowner's association, nor do we have authority to enforce local laws and rules. Rather, we are a 100% volunteer-led membership organization working together, and in partnership with the appropriate local authorities, to foster a neighborhood that is safe, productive and committed to maintaining a high quality of life for all residents.

Membership Eligibility

While not a requirement for living in Stratford Landing, SLCA Membership is an important, value-added benefit available to all residents. SLCA sponsors a number of events and activities throughout the year, ensuring that our community continues to grow and thrive!

SLCA Membership is open to households residing with the territory of Fairfax County, Virginia, bounded on the South by the tributary of the Little Hunting Creek that runs parallel to Creek Drive; on the West by Little Hunting Creek; on the North by the tributary of Little Hunting Creek that runs parallel to the East-West course of Brewster Drive; and on the East by Riverside Road and a line extending Riverside Road but also including Wittington Boulevard and its feeder roads. See our neighborhood map below for details.

SLCA Associate Membership is a new category of membership created by an amendment to the SLCA Bylaws in 2022.  An Associate Member does not have to reside in Stratford Landing.  This category is designed for previous residents who have moved out still want to be included, neighbors in adjacent neighborhoods who want to be included, and absentee landlords and other property owners.

An Associate Member pays an annual fee, as does a regular member household, and avails of the same benefits as a regular member, except that they may not serve on the Executive Committee nor as Representatives to the MVCCA, and they may not vote during the Annual Meeting nor any Special Meetings nor in any Referendums.

Membership Cost

The SLCA annual membership fee is $10 (per household) and is put toward positive impacts to our community, including support of programs, events and activities offered by the Stratford Landing Citizens Association throughout the year. Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Membership Benefits

  • Nonpartisan advocacy with the Fairfax County Government: the SLCA delegates sit on numerous Mount Vernon Council of Citizens’ Associations committees, where important policy decisions and recommendations are made that affect local school planning, zoning, public safety, housing, human services and more.

  • A bi-annual candidate forum which brings out both state and local candidates for elected office to share their ideas and field your questions directly.

  • Family fun activities including the annual neighborhood Halloween Parade, Easter Egg Hunt, Santa on a Firetruck, Community Yard Sales, an Earth Day event and more!

  • Promoting volunteerism including clean-up of Little Hunting Creek and supporting the “Jack and Betty Shawn” INOVA Blood Drives.

  • Regular newsletter, email, web and Facebook updates about news and happenings in our community.

  • Support for general administration including website hosting, newsletter printing, and community-based advertising, insurance, and licensing.
